Default Back talk

I don't know about you guys... but in the last few weeks Ive come
across a few situations where people have made disagreable comments,
but when I've disagreed with them, they've put me on "ignore", and then
procedded to bombard me with insults. That doesn't seem right to me,
if they want to continue to take issue with me, they should have to hear
my side of the agruement too.
I know that some of you "weaker" people will say that I can just ignore
them too. I think that if they can chose to ignore my comments, they
should be blocked from talking to me too, as a rule.

That's what the ignore button is for, to ignore what someone is saying to you.

..and by weak do you mean people that choose not to whine about miniscule quarrels they have with other players? If so, I'm weak.

You should just ignore them. :P

When somebody does that to you, think hard about why they're saying it, and what caused them to say it.
Is it something you did wrong?

Usually that doesn't happen unless you were the one screaming OWNED or wow you suck in random arena. Then don't expect any peace for a while.

I dunno... I've had a lot of people just curse for no reason at all, anywhere, anytime.

I think its just the 10 year old momma's boys or seriously immature adults.

As said before, adding them to your ignore list stops them talking to you. You can't see a thing they type. It just needs to be made bigger; I'd easily run out of slots if I let myself. Instead I keep Local Chat off to avoid the morons and stop myself maxing out ignore. In my first 2 months of playing (May/June) I got 3 people on the ignore list so following that i'd probably have it filled easily by now

Unfortunately this game is full of jerks. Great people too, but they're far outweighed by the jerks.

My silly argument in Lion Arch yesterday went like this:

Me: wts rare "insert item"...current offer 100k+2ecto.....buyout 100k+20ecto

Jerk: your item sucks, its not worth 100k man, give it up noob, the only good thing there is +7 armor.

Me: thanks, I don't need your advice

Jerk: its not worth 100k, only an idiot would buy that junk.

Me: well, then I guess you quality.

Jerk: oh really?

Me: you started it buddy, why don't you mind your own business.

5 minutes goes buy and I'm selling in Droknars Forge.

The Same Jerk: your item sucks

Me: you again? Don't you have anything else better to do?

Jerk: na, I don't have a life, lol

Me: well, you can't have mine!

end of conversation

Why would you call people weak if they can ignore dumb people? If you can't just ignore them then you are probably helping them have fun while you are getting angry.

Just go into a different mode, like "Offline" or "Do Not Disturb," or you can just turn off local chat.

Isn't there a glitch that allows you to see what people say in public, even if you "ignore" them? Or was that fixed?

Some people just like to hide behind the internet....they will insult you personally....then when you give as good as you got (usually better) they run for mommy.

I used to ignore them....but...hey.....they want to play...let's play!

Either ignore them or play them out to make them look like the noob. So fun when the tables turn on them.

IMO it's a matter of perspective. I noticed I seemed to meet far more "jerks" when I was in a bad mood.
The way I see it is two people in a bad mood rubbing each other the wrong way... You'd be pretty hard pressed to find a truely irredeemable person. So, in the future, don't be so petty and just let the comments slide as people venting.

This is why it's really important to curse a person to tears if he sends a nasty tell to you and *doesn't* put you on ignore. Gotta get the bad blood out when given the opportunity.

BTW, people that put you on ignore and then send you a nasty tell are people who HAVE NEVER BEEN AND NEVER WILL BE WITH A WOMAN. Remember that, and smile.

Simply not true, I love the ignore and tell, I use it on assholes all the time, and I'm sure it just burns them when the cant respond to my usually harmless, assinine taunts. But I only ever do it to people that ask for it by acting rude, calling others noobs. Basically its like I get the last word and you cant say shit. Haha

5-10 minutes in Random Arenas, you will find at least ONE irredeemable person.

I think they spawn there and kinda invade the rest of the game...kinda like the undead.

Break out the napalm and scortch RA!

*Crazy eyed look* "I love the smell of napalm in the morning! In smells like victory!"

You'd be surprised at how often it's actually the latter.
